Privacy Notice
The short version
- You don't need an account to compare prices, and we don't ask who you are.
- If you share a price, we keep only the price details — never your name, birth date, prescription number, or prescriber.
- We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Information you choose to share
When you share a price you paid, or a pharmacy lists its price, we collect the medicine and strength, quantity, amount paid, whether a discount card was used, the pharmacy (picked from a list of pharmacies near a ZIP code you enter, or typed in), and, if you add it, the week it was filled (not the exact day). If you add a medicine that isn't listed, we collect its name, strength, and form. Optional checkboxes record things like whether the medicine was out of stock. Reports are reviewed before they appear publicly, and approved reports are shown without any information about who submitted them.
Please don't type personal or health details into any field. If you include them by mistake, contact us and we'll remove them.
Information collected automatically
To prevent spam, we create a scrambled code (a one-way hash) from your device's network address when you submit a report. We don't store the address itself, and the code is deleted after 24 hours. Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs for security and reliability.
If you enter a ZIP code to see nearby prices, it's used to filter and map results. It isn't saved with your search.
Outside services
Maps are drawn with map tiles from OpenStreetMap, and ZIP codes are placed on the map using the Zippopotam.us lookup service; your browser contacts these services directly when you use the map. The list of pharmacies to choose from, and Costco pharmacy locations on the map, come from the federal NPI Registry; Walmart store locations come from OpenStreetMap; and ZIP code locations from the U.S. Census Bureau. Price information comes from published sources such as Cost Plus Drugs' public price list and Walmart's posted prescription price list, and drug cost benchmarks from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Links to pharmacies and other websites are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children
CareClear is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
Your choices and questions
To ask a question or request removal of a report you submitted, email support@pairadoc.com. Because reports aren't linked to a name or account, please describe the report (medicine, pharmacy, ZIP, and week) so we can find it.
Changes
If we change this notice, we'll update the effective date above.
